Rooted in Clarendon. Made to travel.

A sound with roots and room to grow.

Soul’Lucien is a soul-reggae artist from Hayes, Clarendon—home soil shared with reggae voices including Freddie McGregor, Everton Blender, Cocoa Tea, and The Clarendonians. Raised in the church and mentored by reggae legend Ernest “Shark” Wilson, he brings roots reggae, soul, and spirit into songs of love and healing.

He began singing at four, learned piano at church, and kept music close while earning his economics degrees at the University of the West Indies and directing campus choirs.

The story behind the sound

From church
choir to
soul-reggae.

Soul’Lucien began singing at age four at Hayes New Testament Church of God, later leading the youth choir and performing at church rallies, gospel concerts, and school events. His first piano lessons came from the church keyboardist, Brother Tony, and continued under the mentorship of Clarendonians legend Ernest “Shark” Wilson.

He went on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics at the University of the West Indies while directing the Irvine Hall Choir, UWI Chorale, and UWI Pop Society. Music stayed with him—through performances with Third World and Marcia Griffiths, and into songs of love, spirit, and healing.

A song in the journey“Unchanging Love” was praised by Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, and the late Bob Andy as a well-written song, according to the EPK.
